Padma Awards Nomination: Online nominations/recommendations for the Padma Awards 2023 to be announced on the occasion of Republic Day, 2023 have opened on 1st May 2022. The last date for nominations for Padma Awards is 15th September, 2022. The nominations/recommendations for Padma Awards will be received online only on the Rashtriya Puruskar Portal (https://awards.gov.in ).

What are the Padma Awards? 

The Padma Awards, namely Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri, are the highest civilian awards of the country. Established in 1954, these awards are announced every year on the occasion of Republic Day. These awards are given for distinguished work in various fields.

Padma Awards Nomination: The last date for nominations for Padma Awards 2023, to be announced on the occasion of Republic Day 2023, is 15 September. The online enrollment/recommendation submission process has started from 1st May 2022. Applications for nomination/recommendation for Padma Awards can be submitted through online mode only on the National Awards Portal (https://awards.gov.in).

The Padma Awards, namely Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri, are the highest civilian awards of the country. Established in 1954, these awards are announced every year on the occasion of Republic Day. These awards recognize ‘distinguished work’ related to service, distinguished and exceptional achievements in the fields, disciplines of art, literature and education, sports, medicine, social work, science and engineering, public work, civil service, trade and industry etc.

Who is eligible for Padma Awards? 

All individuals are eligible for these awards, regardless of caste, occupation, position or gender. Apart from doctors and scientists, all government employees including employees working in public sector undertakings are not eligible for the Padma Awards 2023. As per the information received from PIB, all citizens have been requested to make nominations/recommendations including their own nominations.

Concerted efforts will be made to identify the talented persons who will be recommended. Especially those who belong to women, weaker sections of the society, scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, and disabled communities. Those who are doing selfless service to society. Whose excellence and achievements should be truly recognized.

Complete information to be given in enrollment

The nomination and recommendation for Padma Awards 2023 include a citation in narrative form (maximum 800 words) in descriptive form along with giving all relevant details. In which the specific and exceptional achievements, service of the person recommended by him in the relevant field, subject have been clearly explained.
