Daily Routine Shlokas for kids: Slokas, or devotional verses, are an integral part of Hinduism and are often recited as prayers. Slokas can teach children important values and virtues. Many slokas emphasize qualities such as respect, humility, gratitude, and compassion.

10 Slokas with Meanings that Children can Memorize


Gayatri Mantra “Om Bhur Bhuvaḥ Swaḥ Tat-savitur Vareñyaṃ Bhargo Devasya Dhīmahi Dhiyo Yonaḥ Prachodayāt”

Meaning: We meditate upon the glory of the Creator; Who has created the Universe; Who is worthy of Worship; Who is the embodiment of Knowledge and Light; Who is the remover of all Sin and Ignorance; May He enlighten our Intellect.

The Gayatri Mantra is a powerful Vedic Mantra. It can purify the mind and elevate consciousness. Regular recitation of the mantra is supposed to promote mental clarity, spiritual development, and inner tranquilly.

Also, it is thought to increase focus, lessen tension, and advance general well-being.

Benefits: Gayatri Mantra has numerous benefits for children, including increasing concentration, improving memory, promoting calmness and relaxation, and enhancing spiritual growth.

Hanuman Chalisa “Shree Hanuman Chalisa” 

Meaning: Oh Lord Hanuman, you possess limitless knowledge and qualities. You are the light of the three worlds. You are the messenger of Lord Rama, who is the repository of immeasurable strength. You are the son of Anjani and the wind god.

Benefit: Hanuman Chalisa is a Hindu devotional hymn that praises Lord Hanuman. It is believed to have several benefits, including protection from evil forces, increasing strength and courage, removing obstacles, and gaining wisdom and knowledge. It is also said to bring peace and harmony to the reciter’s life.

Saraswati Vandana “Ya kundendu tushara hara dhavala Ya shubhra vastravrta Ya veena vara danda mandita kara Ya shveta padmasana”

Meaning: Oh Mother Saraswati, you are pure and white like the jasmine flower and the moon. You are adorned in white garments and hold a veena (musical instrument) in your hands. You are seated on a white lotus.

Benefit: Saraswati Vandana is a Hindu prayer that is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, music, and arts.

The prayer is believed to bring blessings for academic success, creativity, and wisdom. Chanting the prayer also helps in calming the mind, improving focus and concentration, and promoting inner peace.

Guru Vandana “Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu Guru Devo Maheshwara Guru Sakshat Para Brahma Tasmai Shri Gurave Namaha”

Meaning: The Guru is like Brahma, who creates knowledge; the Guru is like Lord Vishnu, who nurtures and sustains knowledge; the Guru is also like Lord Shiva, who destroys ignorance. Salutations to the great teacher who is the embodiment of the Supreme Brahman.

Benefits: Guru Vandana is the act of showing reverence and gratitude towards the guru. It helps in developing a strong bond between the Guru means teacher and student, which leads to better understanding, knowledge, and learning.

It also instils humility, respect, and devotion in the student towards the teacher, and ultimately, towards all sources of knowledge.

Shanti Mantra “Om Sarveshaam Swastir Bhavatu Sarveshaam Shantir Bhavatu Sarveshaam Poornam Bhavatu Sarveshaam Mangalam Bhavatu”

Meaning:  May everyone be well! Peace be upon all! May everyone attain perfection! Good luck to all! May all people be happy!

Benefits: Shanti Mantra is a powerful ancient Sanskrit Mantra that promotes peace, harmony, and well-being. The regular recitation of the shanti path can help reduce stress, anxiety, and negative emotions.

Shanti Mantra also enhances our concentration, clarity of mind, and spiritual growth. It is often used in yoga and meditation practices to cultivate a peaceful and positive mindset.

Mahamrityunjaya Mantra “Om Trayambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim Pushtivardhanam Urvarukamiva Bandhanan Mrityor Mukshiya Maamritat”

Meaning: We worship the three-eyed Lord Shiva, who is fragrant and nourishes all beings. May He liberate us from death for the sake of immortality.

Benefits: Mahamrityunjaya Mantra is an ancient Hindu prayer to confer many benefits, including protection from negative energies, physical healing, and spiritual.

Asatoma Sadgamaya “Asatoma Sadgamaya Tamasoma Jyotirgamaya Mrityorma Amritam Gamaya”

Meaning: Lead us from the unreal to the real, from darkness to light, and from death to immortality.

Benefits: Asatoma Sadgamaya is a powerful Hindu prayer that is recited to lead one from falsehood to truth. The benefits of Asatoma Sadgamaya are spiritual upliftment, inner peace, clarity of mind, and a deeper understanding of the true purpose of life.
