CBSE Launches Fifth Phase of Adolescent Peer Educator Program for Enhanced Life Skills and Wellbeing

Adolescent Peer Educator Leadership in life Skills, Health and Wellbeing Program Registration for Fifth Phase of Training Program. 

CBSE released a latest circular regarding the Adolescent Peer Educator Leadership Program, focusing on life skills, health, and wellbeing. This initiative (collaboration with Expressions India) aims to enrich the holistic health and life skills of students.

Background of the Program

The CBSE Peer Educators Life Skills Leadership (PHASE V) program, focusing on Adolescent Peer Educators Leadership in Life Skills, Holistic Health & Wellbeing, was launched on November 23, 2021. The program aims to empower students and create a positive climate for behavioral change. To date, 111 batches have been completed, training 9,640 students and 4,820 teacher mentors from 2,410 schools.

Aims of the Program

In this CBSE circular, CBSE mentioned the program’s goals:

  • Equipping students to foster behavioral change.
  • Enhancing an inclusive environment for psychosocial well-being.

Fifth Phase of Training Programs

The CBSE will start the Fifth phase of the training programmes in the month of May 2024. The CBSE schools can register four students from class IX in case, the schools are affiliated till X. The schoolsare requested to send their nominations as per the following-

  • Nomination four senior students (Peer Educator)- Two each from the class IX and XI to participate in the comprehensive orientation program.
  • Also, nominate one teacher and the School Counsellor/ Wellness Teacher to support the 4 Peer educators.

Eligibility Criteria for Peer Educators

Candidates should have:

  1. Teamwork enthusiasm and commitment.
  2. Effective communication skills and empathy.
  3. Leadership abilities.
  4. Interest in health and well-being issues.

How to Register

Schools interested in participating should: Schools are encouraged to submit a brief note (400 words) of the activities being carried outby the school for the promotion of Life Skills and well-being along with the registration form mentioned above.

  • Fill out the online registration form available here.
  • Submit a brief note on the school’s life skills and well-being activities.

The deadline for registration is April 30, 2024. Only online submissions will be accepted.

Program Details

About 50 schools will participate in each training program, with the schedule informed to the schools in advance. Participants, including students and teachers, will receive e-certificates of participation.
