National Post Day | Indian Postal Day
National Post Day (Indian Postal Day) is observed every year on 10 October, the basic objective of celebrating this special day is to remember the role played by the Indian Postal Department for the last 150 years, which was established in 1854. The Indian Postal Service has been an integral part of India. The postal services in India have performed at their best despite the diversity in culture, tradition, and difficult geographical terrain.
The postal service was the only service through which the individual remains connected to the individual. It was considered one of the important services. India Post is like that link that binds the whole country in one thread. Relatives used to participate in each other’s happiness and sorrow through letters. Despite being so far away, there would be belonging and love in everyone, and in today’s time, even after every moment of news, the love, attraction, and belongingness of the time of letters have been lost somewhere. In such a situation, National Post Day (Indian Postal Day) works to remind us of those old days.

Postal delivery work by Indian Postal Department
The Indian Postal Department does the work of postal delivery in the country on the basis of Pincode Number (Postal Index Number). The Pincode number was introduced on 15 August 1972. Under this, the country has been divided into no geographic regions by the Department of Posts.
Numbers 1 to 8 are geographical areas and number 9 is allotted to the Army’s postal service. The first number of the pin code represents the area, the second number represents the sub-region, and the third number represents the district. The last three numbers indicate the specific post office of that district.
