APJ Abdul Kalam: APJ Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October 1931 in a Poor Muslim family in the Dhanushkodi village of Rameswaram. Abdul Kalam lived in a joint family. His father was neither highly educated nor wealthy. For work, his father used to rent out boats to fishermen.
