In response to the ongoing heatwave across Punjab, the state government has announced that all Government, Aided, Recognized, and Private schools will remain closed for summer vacation from June 2 to June 30, 2025.
The decision was officially shared by Punjab’s Education Minister, Harjot Singh Bains, through a post on social media platform X. The move aims to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff as temperatures continue to rise sharply across various districts.

This step comes amid warnings issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), which has predicted continued extreme heat conditions in the region. The early declaration of holidays will apply to schools across all districts of Punjab.
Parents, students, and educational institutions have been advised to take note of the revised summer break schedule and make necessary arrangements accordingly. Further instructions, if any, are expected to be communicated by the Department of School Education.
The health and safety of children remain the top priority during this period of intense weather.
