ALL INDIA SAINIK SCHOOLS ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (AISSEE)-2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially opened the registration for the All India Sainik School Entrance Exam (AISSEE 2024). Prospective students aiming to join the prestigious Sainik Schools can apply until 5 pm on December 16.
The AISSEE 2024 is a gateway for admission to Class 6 and Class 9 in 33 Sainik Schools, which are English medium residential schools nurturing future defense leaders.
Admission to the Sainik School stream of Class VI of the New Sainik Schools, for the academic year 2024-25 is also through AISSEE-2024.Â

Admission to New Sainik Schools Through AISSEE 2024
Following the Ministry of Defence’s nod to 19 new Sainik Schools, admissions for Class 6 for the 2024-25 academic session will proceed via AISSEE 2024. This expansion reflects the growing demand for value-based education systems that Sainik Schools epitomize.
Eligibility Criteria for Class VI Admission in Sainik Schools (AISSEE) for the Academic Year 2024-2025
Students should be between 10 and 12 years as of 31.03.2024. Admission for girls is open, subject to availability of vacancies. Age criteria is the same as for boys.
Eligibility Criteria for Class IX Admission in Sainik Schools (AISSEE) for the Academic Year 2024-2025
Students should be between 13 and 15 years as of 31.03.2024 and should have passed Class VIII from a recognized school. Admission for girls is open, subject to availability of vacancies. Age criteria is the same as for boys.
AISSEE 2024 Exam Details
Scheduled for January 21, 2024, AISSEE 2024 will be conducted in OMR/pen and paper format in 186 cities. The exam will consist of multiple-choice questions, encouraging students from across the country to participate.
Eligibility Criteria for AISSEE 2024
For Class 6, candidates aged between 10-12 years as of March 31, 2024, are eligible, with the provision for girl students’ admission mirroring that for boys. Class 9 hopefuls must be aged 13-15 and have completed Class 8 by the time of admission, with similar terms applying to girl students.
Application Fees for the AISSEE 2024 Sainik School Entrance Exam
The application fee is set at ₹650 for general candidates, wards of defence personnel, ex-servicemen, and OBC (NCL), while SC and ST candidates will pay ₹500.
