A Nation-Wide Yuva Sangam under Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Initiative for Cultural and Educational Exchange
Ministry of Education Press Note: The Ministry of Education has officially commenced the third phase of the Yuva Sangam initiative, an integral part of the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat program.
This third phase of Yuva Sangam under Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat initiative witnesses an enthusiastic delegation of 50 students from Madhya Pradesh embarking on an enriching cultural and educational tour to West Bengal.
Promoting Experiential Learning and Diversity
Yuva Sangam is dedicated to promoting experiential learning, offering young individuals an opportunity to delve into the rich diversity of India. The initiative focuses on providing immersive experiences that highlight the unique aspects of life, landmarks, and achievements in the host states, emphasizing a strong people-to-people connection.
An Insightful Journey Through India’s States and UTs
In this ongoing phase of Yuva Sangam under Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat, youth from 22 States and Union Territories, mainly students from Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) and off-campus youngsters aged 18-30, will travel to their paired states.
The tours, scheduled throughout November and December 2023, aim to provide a comprehensive exposure to five key areas:
- Paryatan (Tourism): Exploring the scenic and historical wonders of the host states.
- Parampara (Traditions): Delving into the rich cultural heritage and customs.
- Pragati (Development): Witnessing the developmental strides and advancements.
- Prodyogik (Technology): Understanding the technological innovations and progress.
- Paraspar Sampark (People-to-people connect): Building connections and understanding the life of the local populace.
Institutional Pairing and Expected Outcomes
Yuva Sangam Phase-III will have participation from 22 States and UTs with the following Higher Education Institutions paired for the purpose of conducting the exposure tours: Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh-IIT Delhi; IIT Dharwad-IIT Ropar; SPPU Pune-IIT Guwahati; IIT Hyderabad-BHU Varanasi; IIM Trichy-IIIT Kota; IIM Sambalpur-NIT Calicut; IIITDM Jabalpur-IIT Kharagpur; IIIT Ranchi-NIT Kurukshetra; NIT Goa-IIT Bhilai; and IIM Bodhgaya-IIIT Surat.
Building on Past Success for Future Impact
Given the overwhelming success of the first two phases of Yuva Sangam, with more than 2000 youth participants, Phase 3 is expected to carry forward this momentum with equal vigor and enthusiasm.
Indeed, this initiative, under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat banner, seeks to broaden the intellectual horizons of young individuals. Additionally, it strives to foster empathy and understanding of India’s diverse cultures and empowers these agents of change to utilize their knowledge for a more connected, empathetic, and technologically advanced India.
