CBSE Launches Young Warrior Movement for Teachers & Students
The rapid spread of the COVID-19 pandemic has forced our everyday routines to take a backseat. We have collectively witnessed a rise in public fear and anxieties. Children are especially affected by this. We need processes, tools and systems for engagement that will help children be better Informed, get Inspired by, encourages them to take initiative to understand and overcome their fears. We are therefore excited to present to you the teacher’s manual for the #YoungWarrior program curated by Slam Out Loud in partnership with CBSE, YuWaah and UNICEF and supported by Cognizant. #YoungWarrior is a nationwide movement to engage 5 million youth to lead action against COVID-19 and impact 50 million people. This manual has been made just for you to support your students through engaging sessions to learn about Covid appropriate behaviours through the power of performance and visual art.
Through 5 art sessions, co-facilitated by Slam Out Loud and YOU! together, we would enable a child to
•Learn steps to prevent and combat the virus
•Understand and navigate emotions through the pandemic
•Learn to advocate for and promote the right information
•Learn to take care of their immediate surroundings and family members
•Understand how to extend support within their communities
As educators, you have the most important job in the world! You are shaping young minds who will be the catalysts of change in the future. This year has been tough for all of us, and especially for you. The shift to online mode of teaching has been challenging but it has not stopped you from using your power of love to inspire students and take them on a journey of self- discovery. You have shown immense courage in these trying times and we hope this manual supports you in passing it on to your students and empowers them.
