CBSE Releases Latest Circular on Participation in 18th World Robot Olympiad India – 2024
CBSE has issued a new circular concerning the upcoming 18th World Robot Olympiad (WRO) India 2024. Organized by the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and in collaboration with the India STEM Foundation (ISF), this international event welcomes students to engage in robotics and innovation.
Event Theme and Purpose
This year’s WRO, themed ‘Earth Allies,’ is dedicated to finding robotic solutions that benefit people, nature, and the environment. The event highlights the importance of imagination, problem-solving, collaboration, critical thinking, entrepreneurial skills, and scientific temperament in crafting these solutions.

Registration and Competition Details
Registration is currently open for Level 1 of the Virtual Championship Events in the ‘Future Innovators’ category. The National Championship for this category will take place in August 2024 in the Delhi NCR area. Winners from this round will advance to the WRO 2024 International Championship, which is scheduled to be held in November 2024 in Turkey.
Important deadlines for registration in the ‘Future Innovators’ category include May 6 and June 2, 2024. Event 3 of Level 1 requires teams to register by May 6, with project submissions due between May 7 and May 13, 2024, and results announced by May 30. For Event 4, the registration deadline is June 2, with the submission period running from June 3 to June 9, and results declared on June 17, 2024.
Special Offers and Participation Encouragement
CBSE has also announced that entry for one team per CBSE school into the ‘Future Innovators’ category will be free of charge, allowing schools to choose any technology they prefer to participate with.
The age groups for the competition are categorized as follows: Elementary (8-12 years), Junior (11-15 years), and Senior (14-19 years).
Principals are requested to disseminate this information and encourage participation among students. This initiative aims to enhance students’ skills in problem-solving and critical thinking. Participation in the WRO is voluntary.
