VIDYARTHI VIGYAN MANTHAN (VVM) 2021-22 INDIA’S LARGEST SCIENCE TALENT SEARCH
Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) is an initiative of Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), in collaboration with Vigyan Prasar, an autonomous organization under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), an institution under the Ministry of Education (earlier known as Ministry of Human Resources and Development). VVM is a national program for popularizing science among school students of standard VI to XI, conceptualised to identify the bright minds with a scientific aptitude among the student community.
ABOUT VVN VIDYARTHI VIGYAN MANTHAN – Vigyan Prasar, a National Institute for Science and Technology Communication established under Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, in association with National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) and Vijnana Bharati, is conducting the 10th Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) 2021-22 for school students of classes VI to XI on 30th November 2021 and 5th December 2021.
WHEN WILL HELD VIDYARTHI VIGYAN MANTHAN (VVM) 2021-22 INDIA’S LARGEST SCIENCE TALENT SEARCH
VVM 2021-22 will be India’s first open-book science talent search examination to be held in 12 Indian languages and designed to be carried out using digital devices (App based). This 90 minute examination can be attempted by the students on any of the exam dates between 10:00 am to 8:00 pm from the comfort of their home and following all COVID norms.
Moreover, this year VVM is coming up with Mega Nation-wide Experiment based on the food habits of students, the nutritional value of the consumed food, and its environmental impact will continue this year as well.

- Bhaskara Scholarships shall be offered to all National level winners – Himalayans (18 students)
STRUCTURE OF VIDYARTHI VIGYAN MANTHAN
Students participating in VVM shall undergo the following multi-level testing procedures:
- Objective type Multiple Choice Questions
- Comprehensive Writing o Presentation and Group Discussion
- Role Play
- Practical examination
- Methods of Science
SCHOOL-LEVEL EXAMINATIONS (JUNIOR AND SENIOR):
There will be only one examination for a total of one hour thirty minutes duration at school level with 100 multiple choice questions, each weighted for one mark. Examination will consist of Two Segments viz. Section-A (comprising of 40 questions from study material Indian Contributions to Science; Life story of Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray & India’s Freedom Struggle & Science to be provided by Vijnana Bharati) & Section-B (comprising of 60 questions based on the Text Books of NCERT Curriculum & Logic and Reasoning (open source)). The examination will be conducted separately for Junior Group (class VI to VIII) and for Senior Group (class IX to XI).
