The Tata Building India School Essay Competition is one of the key initiatives undertaken by the Tata group of companies to motivate the youth of India towards thinking about nation building. The essay competition provides a unique platform to encourage young leaders of tomorrow to showcase their expressions in writing.
Each year, students are presented with the opportunity to compete and win by writing an essay on a specific theme, related to nation building.
Submissions are invited for Tata Building India School Essay Competition 2021-22 for Class 6-12 Students. The last date of registration is 31 October 2021.
The Format of Tata Building India School Essay Competition 2021- 2022
This year again, owing to the exceptional circumstances posed by the Covid-19pandemic, the Tata Building India essay writing competition will be conducted through an improved online process, whereby the students can participate in the competition from the safety of their homes. All that is required is an internet connection.
The Tata Building India School Essay Competition is a two-phase activity across all the participating schools in the country for students of classes 6 – 12. The first phase consists of exposing the students to inspirational Tata-linked films to stimulate young minds. Following this, students are asked to write an essay on a given topic of national significance. To ensure a level playing field, the students are divided into two participating categories across all languages (Junior – Classes 6 – 8 andSenior – Classes 9 – 12).
- All students belonging to a single school must write the essay in the same language selected by the school, at the time of school registration. The language selected must be the medium of instruction that the school follows.
- All students must necessarily participate through their respective schools only.

The Tata Building India School Essay Competition, is first evaluated at school level by teachers nominated by the school and thereafter winning school essays are evaluated by judges drawn from independent academic and literary circles for city and national level, in each language.It’s important that each participating school:
- Nominate a single point of contact from their faculty/ administration who would be the main liaison with the Tata team to conduct this competition.
- Nominate teacher(s) to evaluate the essays written at the school level.

The winners are rewarded at all 3 levels – School,City and National. The city and national level winners are specially felicitated. The crowning moment for the national winners and the runners-up is the intended visit to New Delhi and a face-to-face meeting with a national dignitary. Registration Guidelines for Tata Building India – School Essay Competition 2021-22.
ALL students from your school of standards 6 th to 12th to participate and express their ideas towards nation building. Please read the following guidelines carefully before filling the registration form.

1. Only schools with a total of 250 or more students in standards 6th to 12th are eligible to participate.
2. The school must nominate a coordinator who would be the SPOC (single point of contact) for the Tata team to conduct the competition.
3. The nominated coordinator is expected to register the school by clicking on the “REGISTER YOUR SCHOOL” button on the competition website.
4. All the fields in the form must be filled in correctly and without any spelling errors.
5. The School’s UDISE number, name, address, state and city must be accurate, as the school level prizes would be sent to the registered address only.
6. The Principal’s and the coordinator’s email IDs and mobile numbers will be used for all communications related to the competition.
7. Please ensure that all the details filled in are accurate. Once the form is submitted you will NOT be able to edit these details.
8. After successful registration, you will receive a confirmation email on the Principal’s, as well as the coordinator’s email IDs. The email will contain the following:
- School login ID and password
- Instructions to proceed further
9. Please note that the school registrations will close by the stipulated timeline mentioned on the website.
10. Students can participate only if the school is registered. Students need not register for the competition separately.
