Surya Namaskar Video Contest By Ministry of Ayush for Students

On the holy occasion of Makar Sankranti on 14th January 2022 under #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav, the Ministry of Ayush is organising a large scale virtual Surya Namaskar programme where 75 lakh people (participants) will practice Surya Namaskar on 14-01-2022 observing covid appropriate behavior.

This festival comes as a thanksgiving to Mother Nature for spreading health, wealth and happiness around. It is important to mention here that Surya Namaskar is a set of asanas in a combination of 12 steps. These steps comprise 8 asanas in which 4 asanas are repeated. All the 12 steps are to be done in a chronological manner in order to complete the process of one round of Surya Namaskar.

The theme for the event is “Surya Namaskar For Vitality” and सूर्यनमस्कार जीवनीशक्ति का आधार. All the participants may be requested to register on anyone of the following portals before practicing Surya Namaskar on 14thJan 2022.

A wide range of digital resources is already available in the public domain to learn and teach Surya Namaskar. The same may be seen on the websites/ Social Media of MDNIY, MoAyush and various major yoga organizations and Institutions.

Through this video contest, MyGove invites people to share videos showcasing their families, friends or other groups performing Surya Namaskar. The format is Open & Original Content should be shot on mobile/ cameras in Hindi/ English or any other language with English subtitles. Participants have to prepare a video up on “Surya Namaskar”.

The last date for participating in the contest is 31st January 2022

Guidelines to Register with Yoga Certification Board

  • Step 1: Click on this link https://yogacertificationboard.nic.in/suryanamaskar/
  • Step 2: Select your registration as Institution or Individual registration
    a) Institution Registration: Institutes with details of students/ Yoga sadhak may upload bulk data through Excel file.
    b) Individual registration: “Individuals” are those, which are not registered under any institution or an organisation.
  • Step 3: Fill the registration form with correct details.
  • Step 4: Submit details. You will get acknowledgement receipt of registration completed. Kindly save the details of acknowleagement receipt which will be required at the time of login.
  • Step 5: Individual :-> After performoing Surya namaskar on 14th January 2022 and login on the link :https://yogacertificationboard.nic.in/suryanamaskar/login.php and submit the link of your Surya Namaskar (14/01/2022) photo/video to the dashboard.
  • Step 6: Individual :-> After verify the participant’s Surya Namaskar link then participant can download certificate.
  • Step 7: Institution :-> After performoing Surya namaskar on 14th January 2022 and login on the link :https://yogacertificationboard.nic.in/suryanamaskar/login.php and submit the link of your Surya Namaskar (14/01/2022) photo/video to the insitute dashboard.
  • Step 8: Institution shall verify their own participant’s Surya Namaskar link then download the certificate.

The best videos will be showcased on social media handles.

Participants can download the certificate of participation after performing Suryanamaskara and upload a minimum one photo or one Youtube / Facebook link of video doing Suryanamaskara by logging in with username and password from 14th January 2022.
