The nominations/recommendations are being received online on the Ministry of Home Affairs website https://nationalunityawards.mha.gov.in

The Government of India has instituted the highest civilian award in the field of contribution to the unity and integrity of India, in the name of SardarVallabhbhai Patel. The Award seeks to recognize notable and inspiring contributions to promote the cause of national unity and integrity and to reinforce the value of a strong and united India.

Any citizen of India without distinction of religion, race, caste, gender, place of birth, age or occupation, and any institution/organization would be eligible for the Award.

Any Indian national or institution or organization based in India may nominate an individual or institution or organization for consideration for this Award. Individuals/institutions/organizationsmay also nominate themselves. State Governments, Union Territory Administrations and Ministries of the Government of India may also send nominations for the award.

The government of India has instituted the award in the name of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The Award seeks to recognize notable and inspiring contributions to promote the cause of national unity and integrity and to reinforce the value of a strong and united India.

Nominations for the  Sardar Patel National Unity Award 2021 are open till 15th August 2021

The Sardar Patel National Unity Award 2021 seeks to recognize notable and inspiring contributions to promote the cause of national unity and integrity and to reinforce the value of a strong and united India. The award will be announced on the occasion of the National Unity Day, i.e. the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel on 31st October.

The Sardar Patel National Unity Award shall consist of a medal and a citation. No monetary grant or cash award shall be attached to this Award. Not more than three Awards shall be given in a year. It shall not be conferred posthumously except in very rare and highly deserving cases.

3. Eligibility for Sardar Patel National Unity Award 2021

Any citizen of India without distinction of religion, race, caste, gender, place of birth, age or occupation and any institution/organization shall be eligible for the Award.

Only individuals/institutions/organizations would be eligible to apply for this Sardar Patel National Unity Award.

4. Criteria for Award (Sardar Patel National Unity Award 2021)

The candidate for the Sardar Patel National Unity Award should have made outstanding efforts and notable contributions to promote and further the cause of national unity and integrity in a manner that may serve as an inspiration to others, and reinforce the value of a strong and united India.

5. Procedure For Applying For Sardar Patel National Unity Award 2021

➡ Nominations will be invited publically every year.

➡ The application shall be filed online on the website of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

➡ The applications towards a nomination for the Sardar Patel National Unity Award 2021 shall be filed between 1st June to 31st July each year.

➡ Any Indian national or institution or organization based in India can nominate an individual for consideration for this Sardar Patel National Unity Award 2021.Individuals can also nominate themselves. 

The recommendations for the award may also be invited from the State Governments/UT Administrations and Ministries/Departments of the Government of India who shall send their recommendations online.
