Sahitya Akademi Awards 2023: Celebrating Literary Excellence in 24 Languages
Sahitya Akademi Award 2023: Big news for book lovers! The Sahitya Akademi has just announced its annual awards for 2023, covering 24 different languages. This year, 9 poetry books, 6 novels, 5 collections of short stories, 3 essays, and 1 literary study have grabbed the prestigious awards.
The Sahitya Akademi Awards for 2023 winners were chosen by a panel of esteemed jury members for each language. The Executive Board of the Sahitya Akademi, led by Sri Madhav Kaushik, the President, gave their approval for these awards on December 20, 2023.
Mark your calendars! The Sahitya Akademi Award presentation will take place on March 12, 2024, at the Kamani Auditorium in New Delhi. It’s going to be a grand celebration of literature and the talented writers who enrich our lives with their words.

The books we picked were chosen by a team of three experts. They followed special rules to make their choices. Sometimes, they all agreed on a book. Other times, most of them had to agree. These books were all first published between January 1, 2017, and December 31, 2021.

The Sahitya Akademi Award winners get a special prize. It includes a box with a copper plaque, a shawl, and a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000. We will give these awards to the winners on March 12, 2024. The big event will happen at Kamani Auditorium in New Delhi.
