In light of the imminent heavy rainfall forecasted for various districts of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, the Punjab government, under the guidance of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has decreed a halt to all educational activities in the state.

Official Directive Issued

The official circular notification regarding the Punjab School Holidays 2023 was released in response to concerns about flooding resulting from the anticipated downpours. This mandate covers not only government Schools but also aided and private schools across the state.

The holiday period extends from the 23rd to the 26th of August, providing a four-day window to ensure the safety and security of students and school staff.

Education Minister’s Statement on the Precaution

Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains announced the decision earlier today. Emphasizing the priority of student safety and the need to heed weather warnings, Bains shared that the Chief Minister desired a three-day closure, affecting all private, aided, and government schools alike.

Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather bulletins and take necessary precautions during this period.
