Project Veer Gatha 3.0: Celebrating the Bravehearts
Honoring Acts of Bravery and Sacrifice with Project Veer Gatha Edition 3.0.
The Ministry of Defence in coordination with Ministry of Education has now decided to launch Project Veer Gatha Edition 3.0 which is proposed to be culminated with the prize distribution ceremony in January, 2024.
The Government of India’s prestigious Gallantry Awards, recognizing officers, personnel, and civilians for unparalleled acts of bravery and sacrifice, are presented biannually on Republic Day and Independence Day.
Understanding the significance of disseminating tales of courage, the Ministry of Defence (MoD), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MoE), initiated “Project Veer Gatha”.
Launched in 2021 with a second edition in 2022, the MoD and MoE are gearing up for the third edition – Project Veer Gatha 3.0, set to conclude with a grand prize distribution in January 2024.

To ensure that students immerse themselves in understanding the valor and sacrifice of these heroes, schools are encouraged to integrate diverse activities such as:

- Essays
- Paintings
- Multimedia Presentations
Project Veer Gatha 3.0 Categories & Activities
Please note that the My Gov Veer Gatha 3.0 Portal will be open for submission of entries upto 15th September 2023. Schools should not wait for the last date for submission of the best entries.

Best entries from the participants at MyGov Portal, will be selected for awards as per the following details:
- Class 3rd to 5th: 25 winners
- Class 6th to 8th: 25 winners
- Class 9th to 10th: 25 winners
- Class 11th to 12th: 25 winners
Each age group has an equal opportunity, with 25 winners from each category making up the Super 100.
Suggested topics include celebrating Gallantry Award winners as role models, recognizing their supreme sacrifice, drawing inspiration from historical figures like Rani Lakshmibai, and acknowledging the significant role of tribal uprisings in the freedom struggle.

Project Veer Gatha 3.0 Timeline for Schools
Schools affiliated with CBSE have a definitive timeline to conduct activities:
Upto 15th September 2023:
Schools will oversee and execute project activities. Post which, they will evaluate entries at the district level as per guidelines provided. Schools are mandated to upload their best entry per category on the mygov portal, with each school contributing a total of four entries. It’s worth noting that schools up to class 5, 8, and 10 can also submit four entries across applicable categories.
Project Veer Gatha Registration and Submission Details
For the current edition of Project Veer Gatha, schools affiliated with the Board are required to submit entries exclusively on the mygov Portal. The portal will remain open for submission up to 15th September 2023. Schools are advised not to postpone the submission of their best entries to the last day.
Impressively, 100 entries at the national level will be acknowledged as the “Super 100”. These entries are further categorized as per the class groups. Furthermore, State/UT and District levels will recognize four winners from each category, ensuring a wide representation.
The judgment by the evaluators/jury is final and binding.
Project Veer Gatha 3.0 Awards
The Ministry of Defence will award a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- to each of the 100 national winners. These winners will also have the honor of being invited to the Republic Day Celebration in Delhi. All participants, whose entries grace the Veer Gatha portal, will receive an E-certificate of Participation.
