The National Defence Academy is proud to present Wizquiz: an all-India quiz competition for Students studying in classes 9-12, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the institution.
The National Defence Academy (NDA), an iconic institution known for its Tri-Service Training Academy, is proud to host the All India Inter-School Quiz Competition – WizQuiz 2023.
With seven decades of illustrious service to the nation, the NDA continues to inspire young minds from every corner of the country and even friendly foreign nations.
A Brief About NDA and its Legacy
Over the years, the NDA has grown gracefully and grandly, proving its mettle by producing military leaders who have played instrumental roles in various wars fought by the Indian Armed Forces.
To further its mission of training cadets to become officers and serve as feeder initiation to Pre-Commission Training academies of the Indian Armed Forces, the NDA has consistently conducted a range of events.
Among these is the All India Inter-School Quiz Competition ‘WizQuiz’. This event is designed to increase awareness about the NDA as an attractive career option among students.
The CBSE has released the latest circular encouraging maximum student participation in the WizQuiz Competition. Schools and teachers are requested to disseminate this information and inspire students to participate.
The Grand Celebration of 75 Years
This year’s WizQuiz competition is even more special as it coincides with the celebration of 75 glorious years of the National Defence Academy’s existence.
This milestone is simultaneous with Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, marking 75 years of India’s independence. The competition serves as a reminder of the institution’s vital role in shaping India’s defence forces.
All India Inter-School Quiz Competition by National Defence Academy (NDA)
The WizQuiz Competition Comprises Four Stages:
- Stage 1 – Preliminary Round (13th August)
- Stage 2 & 3 – Zonal & Semi-finals (19th-20th & 26th August)
- Stage 4 – Grand Finale (28th October)

Eligibility and Registration for NDA WizQuiz
Eligibility for this quiz competition is open to all students enrolled in classes IX to XII in schools across India. Each team must comprise two team members, both students must be enrolled in the same school, and inter-class teams are permitted.
Online registration for the competition is mandatory. Schools are responsible for registering a maximum of three (3) teams on behalf of their students. Registration can be completed at Wizquiz.
The NDA WizQuiz Theme & Preparation
The central theme of the quiz is “India”. Participants will be tested on their general knowledge and a variety of areas such as current affairs, sports, science, entertainment, the history of the NDA, and India’s Armed Forces. No specific preparation is required for the quiz, making it an exciting challenge for the participants.
WizQuiz 2023 Rules, Rewards, and Programme Timeline
Before the commencement of Stage I of the wizquiz competition, participants must present a school ID card or a bonafide letter or certificate from the school. Any team failing to produce proof of identity within the stipulated time or found using unfair means to answer questions may be disqualified at any stage.
The preliminary round (Stage 1) will be held on August 13, with 40 questions to be answered in 20 minutes. The subsequent stages will take place online on Zoom and Kahoot, hosted by a quizmaster.
The grand finale will be held on October 28 at the National Defence Academy campus in Khadakwasla, Pune, Maharashtra.
Travel & Stay Arrangements for Finalists
Arrangements have been made for the finalists (2 Members + 1 Teacher in each team) including travel charge reimbursement (maximum up to 3AC fare till Pune), transport to and from Pune Railway Station/Airport, and lodging and meals in Pune for a maximum period of two days.
