What Types of Cyber Threats Are Common?

In today’s interconnected world, various cyber threats pose significant risks. These threats include phishing attacks, cyber warfare, identity theft, and the increasing complexity of ransomware. As technology advances, so do the methods employed by cybercriminals. Artificial Intelligence-driven attacks and the widespread use of Internet of Things (IoT) devices amplify these risks, making it imperative for individuals to stay informed and vigilant.

How Does the CIET-NCERT Address Cyber Security?

The Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET-NCERT) conducts a monthly 5-hour training series on Cyber Security and Prevention.

This initiative aims to create awareness and educate various stakeholders on mitigating cyber threats. For June 2024, the training will focus on “Cyber Threats” and will be available in English from June 3-7 and in Hindi from June 10-14, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

The training features sessions by experts in the field:

  • Day 1 (June 10): Cyber Threats: Understanding the Landscape – Ms. Anni Kumar, PGT Computer Science
  • Day 2 (June 11): Threats of Cyber Bullying – Ms. Vinita Garg, PGT Computer Science
  • Day 3 (June 12): Identity Threats – Ms. Chandni Agarwal, National ICT Award Winner
  • Day 4 (June 13): Phishing Attacks – Ms. Neeru Mittal, PGT Computer Science
  • Day 5 (June 14): Malware and Ransomware Attacks – Mr. Sandeep Arora, Vice Principal

How to Participate in the Training?

What Are the Steps to Join?

Live Sessions: Watch the live training sessions on NCERT’s YouTube Channel from June 10 to June 14, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Sessions will also be streamed on PM eVidya Channels (#6-12), DD Free Dish, Dish TV Channels (#2027-2033), and Jio TV Mobile App.

Enroll in the Course: Join the online course on the Diksha Portal after the training. The course link will be available by 7 PM on the last day of the training.

Final Assessment: Complete the final assessment to qualify for a certificate. Participants can attempt the assessment three times and must score 70% or above to receive a certificate.
