The last date for submission of the ‘Application for NMCMSS for the year 2022-23’ has been extended up to October 15, 2022. Under the ‘National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme’, scholarships are provided to meritorious students from economically weaker sections to prevent them from dropping out in class VIII and to encourage them to continue their education at the secondary level.
NMCMSS 2022-23 Scholarship
One lakh new scholarships are awarded every year to the selected students of class IX studying in state government, government aided and local body schools, and the same is continued/renewed from class X to class XII. The amount of the scholarship is Rs 12000 per annum.
About National Means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme
The National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMCMSS) has been integrated with the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) – an integrated platform for scholarship schemes offered to students. The NMMSS scholarship is disbursed directly into the bank accounts of selected students by electronic transfer through Public Financial Management System (PFMS) following DBT mode. This is 100% centrally sponsored scheme.
National Means cum Merit Scholarship scheme | NMMSS 2022 Eligibility Criteria
Students whose parent’s income from all sources does not exceed Rs 3,50,000 per annum are eligible to avail of this scholarship. To appear in the selection test for the award of scholarship, students must have passed the class VII examination with a minimum of 55 percent marks or equivalent grade (5 percent relaxation for SC/ST students).
NMMSS 2022 Last Dates
The last date for INO level (L1) verification is 31st October, 2022 and of DNO level (L2) verification is 15th November 2022.
