Sir,
It his high time that proper steps be taken to put a stop to the reckless driving of motor cars in the narrow streets of our thickly populated town. Only yesterday a poor old beggar very narrowly escaped from being run over by a motor-car going at a very high speed. He was crossing the street when the car came dashing at the speed of about sixty miles an hour. Such reckless driving causes fatal accidents particularly to the aged, women and children trying to cross the roads.

It is true that regulations regarding the speed limit do exist. But unless the police are very strict in enforcing them, what do drivers care for them? The police take little or no notice of offenders. And so motor-car accidents are of almost daily occurrence.

I hope that the public, who are the sufferers, will force the police and executive authorities to put a stop to reckless driving before we have any more accidents.

Yours Sincerely,

Rakesh Sharma

Letter To Newspaper Editor Regarding Rash Driving And Breaking Of Traffic Rules In Your City

Second Example of Write a letter to the editor of a newspaper on reckless driving #2

The Editor,
The Tribune,
Chandigarh

Subject: Rash and Reckless Driving by the People

Sir,

Through your newspaper column, I would like to draw the attention of (location) police regarding reckless driving and jumping red lights. The latter case is quite evident in the early hours of the morning when the traffic flow is less and also in the late evening. This sometimes led to road accidents that could have been avoided otherwise. Most of the young drivers of (location) are the most irresponsible and careless.

They seem like don’t care about other people’s lives, mobile speedometers are strategically positioned. The problem is not going to end just by paying the Challan. The police should confiscate the driving licenses of such guilty drivers and then put them behind the bars to maintain traffic decorum.

yours truly,
(Your name)
