Respected Sir,
I regret to bring to your kind notice the plight of citizens. The sanitation in our city is deteriorating at an alarming pace. Most of the drains in the city are uncovered. They are not cleaned every day. Sometimes, they are blocked by sewage and the dirty water flows onto the roads.
The result is that a foul smell is always coming out of these drains, flies, and mosquitoes are breeding fast. Heaps of rubbish are lying near the vegetable market. The condition of the streets is deplorable. The sweepers treat every street corner like a dumping pit for refuse. The truck of the Sanitary Department does not remove it for weeks together.
The Sanitary Inspector is seen once in a blue moon. He pleads with his inability to do anything in the matter. The rainy season is at hand. If no timely steps are taken, malaria may break out.
You are, therefore, requested to take a personal interest in the matter and give a shake-up to the Sanitary Department.
