Talent Search Test for science students of West Bengal funded by Department of Science & Technology and Biotechnology, Government of West Bengal
Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS), Kolkata is an Autonomous Registered Society . This organisation is promoted by the Government of West Bengal and administered by a Governing Body with representatives from the State Government, Academics and Industry. Conceptualized in 1958 by visionaries such as Dr. B C Roy and Sir Jehangir Ghandy, JBNSTS was initiated to commemorate the Birth Centenary Celebration of India’s first modern scientist, Acharya J C Bose. The program was inaugurated by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. It enjoys status of a special institution as declared by Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal.
Please Note : Due to the pandemic situation, the examination will be conducted through online mode and the candidates have to appear in the tests from home through their Android Mobile Phone / Laptop / Desktop Computer enabled with camera, microphone and Internet facilities. Written test will be based on MCQ
Scholarship and Book Grant will be awarded to the finally selected candidates
Junior Talent Search Test: For the students who have passed 10th std. Board examination in 2021 with at least 75 % marks / equivalent CGPAin aggregate and currently studying Science in Class XI in any institution in West Bengal.
Junior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti: Only for girl students, this scheme is being implemented from this year. Girl students who have passed 10th std. Board examination in 2021 with at least 75 % marks/ equivalent CGPAin aggregate and currently studying Science in Class XI in any institution in West Bengal. Selection will be made through Junior Talent Search Test .
Senior Talent Search Test: For the students who have passed 12th board examination in 2021 and aspiring to study Basic Science (Hons.) / BS-MS (Integrated)/ Engineering/ Medicine in any institution in West Bengal. Special Attraction: Apart from the scholarship, top 10 girls and top 10 boys will be awarded with Laptop.
Senior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti: Only for girl students, who have passed 12th board examination in 2021 and aspiring to study Basic Science (Hons.)/ BS-MS (Integrated)/ Engineering/ Medicine in any institution in West Bengal. 1.JUNIOR TALENT SEARCH TEST / JUNIOR BIGYANI KANYA MEDHA BRITTI
Reporting Time: 01:30PM / Examination: 02:00PM to 03:00PM
Who can apply for Junior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti: Students who have passed 10th standard examination in 2021 with minimum 75% marks / equivalent C.G.P.A. (in aggregate) and currently studying in class XI in science stream(with at least 3 subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Statistics, Electronics, Computer Science) in any school in West Bengal are eligible to apply.
Written Test question pattern: Junior Talent Search Test / Junior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti is a 60 minutes duration examination with full marks of 60.
Students are to answer Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) form Physical Science, Mathematics, Life Science.
The distribution of questions shall be as below:
Section-A 8 questions of 2.5 marks from each subject (Total 24 questions are to be answered) All questions are to be answered.
Award of Marks for each question:
Correct Answer: 2.5 Marks
Wrong Answer: -1 Mark
Not Attempted: 0 Mark
Syllabus: 10th Std. Examination | Subjects: Physical Science, Life Science, Mathematics

FOR JUNIOR SCHOLARS:
Rs. 1250/- per month for two years.
Rs. 2500/- Annual Book Grant for two years.
FOR JUNIOR BIGYANI KANYA MEDHA BRITTI:Â
Rs.1250/- per month and annual Book grant of Rs. 2500/- for 2 years (till completion of 12th standard examination).
Academic Benefits:
All selected scholars shall get the scholarship certificate.

2. SENIOR TALENT SEARCH TEST / SENIOR BIGYANI KANYA MEDHA BRITTI
Reporting Time: 10:00AM, (log in for verification) Examination: 10:30AM to 12:00 noon
Who can apply: Students who have passed (10+2) Board examination (WBCHSE/ CBSE/ ISC) in the year 2021 and are studying/ aspiring to study Science (Hons)/ BS-MS/Engg./ Medicine in West Bengal.
Written Test question pattern: Senior Talent Search Test / Senior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti is a 90 minutes duration examination with full marks of 75.
Students are to answer Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology (any 3 subjects as per their choice)
