ISRO’s Yuvika – Young Scientist Program, a commendable initiative by ISRO
Educational News: Recently a special program “Young Scientist Programme” is being announced by ISRO i.e. Indian Space Research Organization for children.
ISRO Young Scientist Programme will provide vision knowledge on space, space technology and space science to the young students (who are the building blocks of our nation’s future) in Space Science and Accomplishment in Space Science.
ISRO has designed it for “Catch them Young”. The Young Scientist Programme will encourage more students to pursue science, technology, engineering and science (STEM) research/careers.
Following are the important dates of ISRO Yuvika-2023Â
Announcement of schedule: March 15, 2023
Registration Started: April 03, 2023
Registration ends: April 03, 2023
Publication of first selection list: April 10, 2023
Publication of second selection list: April 20, 2023
Accounting by selected students: May 14, 2023
Yuvika Program: May 15-26,2023
Date of Certificate for students selected from Related Centre: May 27, 2023
Certain limits have already been set for the selection of prospects in Yuvika-2023:
Obtaining 50% marks in class 8 or the last conducted exam
Performance in Online Quiz 10%
Participation in Science Fair (at School/District/State and above the level in last 3 years) 2/5/10%
Olympiad or equivalent rank (1st to 3rd rank in last 3 years at School/District/State and above level) 2/4/5%
Winners of sports competitions (1st to 3rd rank in last 3 years at school/district/state and above level) 2/4/5%
Scouts & Guides / NCC / NSS member in last 3 years 5%
15% studying in village/rural schools located in the Panchayat area
Minimum participation from each State/UT will be ensured. ISRO’s seven events
- Indian Institute of Advanced Sensors (II Rating),
- Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (SCVS), Thiruvananthapuram
- Satish Safe Space Center (SDSC) Sriharikota
- UR Rawacete Center (URSC), Bangalore
- Space Applications Center (SAC), Mirahada
- National Remote Sensing Center (NSC), Secunderabad
The program has been planned at East Space Applications Center (Ani-SAC), Shillong.
Expenses for travel of another student (2nd AC train fare or AC (including Volvo) state government bus fare or authorized transport from connection railway station/bus terminal to acquisition centre and back), course material, accommodation during the entire course And food etc. will be done by ISRO.
The objective of the ISRO Yuvika Program
To identify and nurture talented students and inspire them to become space scientists of the future. The Yuvika program is open to students of class 9th (or vice versa) from all over India.
Three students will be selected from the State/Central open region to undergo residential training of two weeks at various ISRO presences across the country by them.
This gives young children opportunities to explore space science, space science and space technology.

The ISRO Yuvika program offers a comprehensive curriculum, covering a wide range of topics in space science, space flight and space-related topics.
The ISRO Young Scientist Programme includes practicals, benchmarks and hands-on training on various aspects of space science. The curriculum is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of the students and motivate them to pursue a career in the space sector.
It helps the students to stay updated concisely in the space sector and be future-ready.
