G20 Essay Competition by Ministry of External Affairs and MyGov for Students
MyGov in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs is organizing an Essay Competition on the topic ‘My Vision for India’s G20 Presidency’.
About the MyGov G20 Essay Competition
India, a beacon of democracy and multilateralism, assumed the G20 Presidency on December 1, 2022, from Indonesia. This pivotal moment in the nation’s history underscores its commitment to establishing pragmatic global solutions for the well-being of all, embracing the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, or ‘The World is One Family’.
As India leads the G20, it aims to involve its people in this international forum. Among several initiatives, the G20 Secretariat/ Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, in collaboration with MyGov, presents an Essay Competition titled ‘My Vision for India’s G20 Presidency’.
This G20 Essay Competition initiative looks forward to engaging the bright minds of young Indians to enlighten the world with their innovative thoughts and insightful perspectives.
Objectives of the G20 Essay Competition
The G20 Essay Competition revolves around several key objectives:
- Inviting students to share their visions and ideas for India’s G20 Presidency
- Enhancing knowledge and creating awareness about India’s G20 Presidency
- Increasing understanding of India’s role and contributions to the G20
- Encouraging young Indians to engage with different parameters of the G20
Selection Criteria for G20 Essay Competition
Participants’ essays will be evaluated based on:
- The originality of thought and depth of knowledge
- Quality of content and relevance to the topic
- Structure, articulation, and writing style
Eligibility & Submission Guidelines for G20 Essay Competition
The competition is exclusive to Indian Citizens and open to two age groups:
Category A (12 – 14 years) and Category B (14 -16 years).
The essay, not exceeding 1500 words, can be submitted in either Hindi or English.
Each essay must be typed in an A-4 size MS Word document using the Arial font for English and Mangal font for Hindi, size 12 with 1.5” spacing, and submitted as a PDF.
It’s crucial that the participant be the author of the essay and that it reflects original thinking and presentation.

The G20 Essay Competition begins on 1st June 2023 and ends on 31st July 2023.
Rewards
The best entries will be rewarded with a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 each.
Terms and Conditions of the G20 Essay Competition
The G20 Essay Competition has several terms and conditions to ensure fairness and authenticity.
Each participant can submit only one entry, and plagiarized or copied entries will not be considered.
The entries must be submitted through the MyGov.in portal only.
Participants must respect copyright laws, and any violation will lead to disqualification.
Personal details like the author’s name, email, etc., must not be mentioned in the body of the essay.
The G20 Secretariat/ Ministry of External Affairs reserves the right to verify original documents before awarding the prizes, amend any part of the competition/guidelines, and holds exclusive rights to copy, store, edit, distribute, transmit, and publish competition entries.
Any violation of the guidelines will lead to disqualification.

जी20 शिखर सम्मेलन प्रत्येक वर्ष आयोजित किया जाता है। एक बार जी-20 का आयोजन अर्थात कार्यभार हमारा विश्व गुरु भारत देश संभाल रहा है।
जी-20 का अर्थ 20 वित्तीय मंत्रियों और सेंट्रल बैंक गवर्नर का समूह। जो विश्व की 20 प्रमुख अर्थव्यवस्थाओं में वित्त मंत्रियों व केंद्रीय बैंक गवर्नर का एक संगठन है।
इस बार जी-20 शिखर सम्मेलन का विषय हमारे माननीय प्रधानमंत्री श्रीमान नरेंद्र मोदी जी “वसुधैव कुटुंबकम् “कह कर संबोधित किया ।
“वसुधैव कुटुंबकम् का अर्थ संपूर्ण विश्व एक परिवार है।”
यह उपनिषद् से लिया गया है वसुधैव कुटुंबकम् वह दार्शनिक अवधारणा है जो सार्वभौमिक भाईचारा व सभी प्राणियों में परस्पर संबंधों के विचार को पोषित करती है।
इस कारण हमारे माननीय प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी जी ने इस शिखर सम्मेलन के लिए इस विषय को चयनित किया है।
भारत आरंभ से ही अपनी संस्कृति व परंपरा के कारण विश्व विख्यात है। किंतु अब हमारा कर्तव्य है कि हमारा भारत देश अपनी तकनीकी कौशल, शिक्षा, रोजगार और अर्थव्यवस्था आदि के रूप में विश्व के समक्ष स्वयं को एक सर्वोत्तम उदाहरण के रूप में प्रस्तुत करें।
जी-20 ने आरंभ में बड़े पैमाने पर व्यापक आर्थिक मुद्दों पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया लेकिन बाद में विभिन्न एजेंडो का विस्तार हुआ।
अब जलवायु परिवर्तन ,व्यापार ,सतत विकास लक्ष्य, स्वास्थ्य, कृषि ,ऊर्जा, पर्यावरण, गरीबी आदि मुद्दों को इसमें शामिल किया गया है।
कैंडी का प्रतिनिधित्व करने वाले 20 देशों की सकल घरेलू उत्पाद का लगभग 85% और इसकी जनसंख्या दो तिहाई है।
शिखर सम्मेलन में विभिन्न देश शामिल है जो इस प्रकार है-भारत ,ऑस्ट्रेलिया ,संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका ,ब्रिटेन ,यूरोपीय संघ ,ब्राजील, इटली ,जर्मनी ,मेक्सिको, रूस, टर्की , दक्षिण अफ्रीका, जापान ,सऊदी अरब ,अर्जेंटीना ,इंडोनेशिया चीन, कनाडा और फ्रांस।
भारत के लिए अत्यंत ही महत्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि यह देश को दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी अर्थव्यवस्था से जोड़ने ,आर्थिक हितों को बढ़ाने और वैश्विक मुद्दों को मंच प्रदान करेगा।
जी20 भारत के प्रमुख आर्थिक मुद्दों पर राय देने व अपना दृष्टिकोण साझा करने आर्थिक नीतियों पर राय देने का अवसर प्रदान करता है।
भारत के लिए जी-20 जलवायु परिवर्तन, गरीबी ,बेरोजगार तथा असमानता जैसे वैश्विक मुद्दों को संबोधित करने के लिए एक मंच है।
भारत समाधान खोजने ,सतत विकास लक्ष्यों को प्राप्त करने तथा समावेशी आर्थिक विकास को बढ़ावा देने के लिए जी-20 देशों के साथ सहयोग करेगा।
जी20 शिखर सम्मेलन में भारत में वित्तीय स्थिरता अर्थात अर्थव्यवस्था को बढ़ाने में अहम भूमिका निभाई है।
भारत प्रयास करेगा कि वैश्विक वित्तीय प्रणाली स्थिर व
लचीली बनी रहे।
