FTII Pune Announces Five-Day Film Direction Course
Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, Starts enrollments for its Online Course on Fundamentals of Film Direction. Please note that the deadline for registration is August 24, 2023.
The Film and Television Institute of India stands as a film school sanctioned by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Indian Government and financially assisted by the Central Government of India.
Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), a premier institute in film and television education, is set to offer an online course on the “Fundamentals of Film Direction.” The course is scheduled from 11th to 15th September 2023, under the institute’s ‘Centre for Open Learning (CFOL)’ initiative.

- Morning: 10.30 am to 12.30 pm
- Afternoon: 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm

Eligibility & Other Details:
- Age Requirement: 18 years & above as of 01st September 2023.
- Educational Qualification: HSC (12th pass). In some cases, 10th pass may also be considered.
- Participant Cap: Maximum of 16 participants, with 24 seats already reserved for the previous batch applicants.

Faculty Insight:
The course will be conducted by Avinash Roy and Jasmine Kaur Roy, both National Award-winning filmmakers and proud FTII graduates. They have an impressive body of work, ranging from short films, documentaries, and even scripts for mainstream television shows.
Course Curriculum:
Participants will be exposed to various facets of film direction. Topics will include:
- Introduction to Cinema
- Language of Cinema
- Elements of Story, Screenplay, and Working with Actors
- Role of a Film Director and much more.
Mandatory Requirements:
To ensure a seamless learning experience, participants must have:
- A Desktop/Laptop with a good configuration
- Quality headphones with a mic
- HD Webcam
- Stable internet connection with a minimum speed of 10 Mbps
- Familiarity with Google Chrome or other modern web browsers.
Note: Use of mobile phones for attending the class is strictly prohibited.
