The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), in collaboration with MyGov, invites students and citizens of all age groups to participate in an essay writing contest. The contest aims to encourage individuals to share their ideas on how citizens can prepare for heatwaves.
Why is Heatwave Preparedness Important?
Recently, there has been a significant increase in the frequency, duration, and intensity of heatwaves across the nation. Heatwave incidents are now being reported even in states previously considered unlikely to experience such extreme weather.
This campaign seeks to raise awareness about heatwaves and promote disaster risk reduction by mobilizing people to take action.
How Can You Participate in the Contest?
Participants are encouraged to put on their creative caps and showcase their thoughts and knowledge on heatwave preparedness. Essays will be judged based on the depth of knowledge on heatwaves and preparedness strategies. The essays should adhere to a word limit of 1000 words and must be submitted in PDF format.
What is the Theme of the Essay?
The theme for this essay writing competition is “My Preparedness for Heat Wave / ग्रीष्म लहर (लू) के लिए मेरी तैयारी”.
