Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs Pledge: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a new circular, Circular No: Acad-140/2023, calling for a collective fight against drug abuse. This initiative, titled ‘Join Drive Against Drug Abuse: e-pledge for Teachers and Students,’ comes in collaboration with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

The NCB, being the central authority on drug-related issues in India, emphasizes the importance of spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drugs. This fight, they believe, can only be successful if it reaches every household in the country.

In line with this, CBSE has requested all affiliated schools to participate actively in this campaign. The key components of the initiative include:

E-Pledge Participation:

All students and staff members are encouraged to take an e-pledge against drug abuse. The Pledge can be done through the link https://pledge.mygov.in/fightagainstdrugabuse/ before March 17, 2024. A QR code and detailed step-by-step instructions for taking the pledge and obtaining a digital certificate are provided in Annexure-A and Annexure-B of the circular. – Check official CBSE Circular

Awareness Promotion:

Schools are advised to display standees, banners, and e-cards highlighting the dangers of drug abuse in prominent areas within the school premises.
