Department of Posts is organizing the Dhai Akhar Letter Writing Competition at National Level on the theme “Digital India for New India”. Desirous participants may participate in the campaign.
About ‘Dhai Akhar’ National Level Letter Writing Competition
The Department of Posts proudly presents the “Dhai Akhar” Letter Writing Competition at the national level. The theme for this year’s competition is “Digital India for New India”.
With a view to encouraging written communication and exploring the perceptions and expressions of the younger generation, the department invites students, teachers, and other interested participants to engage in this initiative.
General Conditions of ‘Dhai Akhar’ Competition
The “Dhai Akhar” Letter Writing Competition Campaign will be conducted from 01st August to 31st October. Letters posted after 31st October of the year will not be accepted. All interested writers are encouraged to pen their thoughts on the theme “Digital India for New India”, which underscores the significance of leveraging digital technologies for India’s continued growth and transformation.
Topic for the letter writing of Dhai Akhar 2023-24 will be “Digital India for New India”
However, entries posted after 31st October will not be considered. All entries should be handwritten, with typed letters being strictly non-acceptable.

‘Dhai Akhar’ Letter Writing Competition Categories
Participants can send their entries in two categories based on their age:
- Up to 18 years:
- Inland Letter Card Category
- Envelope Category
- Above 18 years:
- Inland Letter Card Category
- Envelope Category
Eligibility of ‘Dhai Akhar’ Letter Writing Competition
The competition is open to all Indian citizens irrespective of their age. Participants should clearly mention and certify their age on the letter. Before sending the best entries for the national level consideration, age and other identification proofs will be verified by the respective circle.
‘Dhai Akhar’ Letter Writing Competition Selection Procedure
Every Circle will shortlist the top 3 entries in each category. Winners at this circle level will then compete at the national level. These selected entries will be forwarded to the Directorate for final evaluation and selection.
‘Dhai Akhar’ Letter Writing Competition Prizes
Circle Level Category:
- First prize in each category (4 Nos.) : Rs. 25,000/-
- Second prize in each category (4 Nos) : Rs.10,000/-
- Third prize in each category (4 Nos.) : Rs. 5,000/-
National Level Category:
- First prize in each category(4 Nos) : Rs. 50,000/-
- Second prize in each category (4 Nos) : Rs. 25,000/-
- Third prize in each category (4 Nos) : Rs. 10,000/-
