CBSE Warns Teachers and Students Against Misleading Claims on Sample Papers
Board Clarifies No Ties with Any Private Publisher for Sample Paper Pattern for Boards 2024
Recently, reports emerged suggesting the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) collaborated with a private publisher, on new sample papers for Classes 10 and 12. CBSE PRO Rama Sharma vehemently denies this association.
An article, supported by links to PDF files supposedly powered by a Private Publisher and it is circulated widely on social platforms.
CBSE’s Official Stance: No Collaboration with Private Publisher
In response to the mounting speculations, CBSE officially stated they haven’t joined with Private Publisher. Instead, the CBSE board has developed additional practice papers to aid Class X and XII students in mastering application-based questions, thereby deepening their conceptual grasp on various topics.

Class 10 & 12 Board Exams: A New Format
To reduce the intense stress associated with yearly examinations, starting this year, the Class 10 and 12 board exams will be conducted bi-annually. This decision aligns with the Ministry of Education’s new curriculum framework, offering students a chance to perform at their peak potential.
CBSE’s Directives: Stick to the Official Website for Authentic Resources
The board observed a rise in private publishers directing students to their websites for downloading CBSE Class 10, 12 sample papers. In light of this, CBSE has reiterated that students should not be swayed by such misleading claims.
CBSE has stated that all official sample papers are available for free on the CBSE website. The board has also warned students and schools not to be misled by any claims or promotions made by private publishers.
Official advisories emphasize on the board’s recent release of CBSE Class 10 and 12 sample papers which focus on application-centric problems to sharpen students’ higher-order thinking skills. To access these materials, students are urged to exclusively use CBSE’s official website: cbseacademic.nic.in.
Emphasis on Competency-focused Education
In line with the National Education Policy 2020, CBSE is supporting competency-centric education and assessment in its affiliated schools. The board has uploaded sample papers for major subjects of Classes 10 and 12 on their website for easy access.
