CBSE proposes Storytelling Competition for all CBSE affiliated schools on the theme ‘The Story of India’.

Storytelling Competition By CBSE  

CBSE Storytelling Competition 2022: Continuous efforts are being made by the Central Board of Secondary Education to improve the creativity, imagination, analytical ability and language knowledge of the students. On February 25, a notice (Circular No.: Acad -27/2022) was issued on the official website of CBSE quoting the Director School Education and Training.

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, CBSE proposes Storytelling Competition for all CBSE affiliated schools on the theme ‘The Story of India’. Interested schools can submit the videos of storytelling by students as per the details mentioned below:

Categories of Participation:

  1. Primary Class 3 to 5
  2. Middle Class 6 to 8
  3. Secondary Class 9 to 10
  4. Sr. Secondary Class 11 to 12

Topics for Storytelling Competition: Topics are attached as Annexure I. Same topics shall be used for the school – level and Regional–level competitions. .

Language for Storytelling Competition: Hindi or English.

Participation – Levels Story telling Competition:

School Level: Schools will conduct Storytelling Competition, on their own, from 25 th February, 2022 to 8 th March, 2022, for all the four categories and select one best entry in each category to participate at Regional Level.

Regional Level: The Regional Level Competition will be conducted digitally, from 8 th March, 2022 to 17 th March, 2022 through the CBSE Storytelling App.

Results and Prizes

At the Regional Level, 1 best story of each category will be selected from each CBSE Region. (The number of best entries may vary depending upon the quality of entries as decided by the judges). Each winner will get a Merit Certificate.

Registration for CBSE Story Telling

After conducting the school-level competition and selecting one best entry from each category, the schools shall register the student with selected best entry. The registration will be done through the CBSE Storytelling web-portal ‘मेरी कहानी, मेरी ज़ुबानी’ to be made available at www.cbse.gov.in. Registration will be open from 8 th March, 2022 to 17 th March, 2022. 

Uploading of Story Telling Videos

Uploading of Storytelling Videos by schools for Regional Level shall be open from 8th March, 2022 to 17th March, 2022. Schools can upload the videos of their students using an android phone only through CBSE Storytelling App available at Google Play store. For guidelines of the process of submission through the App, please see Annexure-II. Before uploading of storytelling videos, schools must obtain a consent letter from parents/guardians of students whose videos are being uploaded.

Duration & Size of Story Telling Video 

  1. Primary – upto 2 min.
  2. Middle – 2-3 mins Not More than 2 MB
  3. Secondary – 3-4 mins.
  4. Sr. Secondary – 3-4 mins.

Assessment Criteria will be Creativity, Fluency, Content Delivery, Coherence and Expression.

Participation in this CBSE Storytelling Competition can be credited to the Portfolio as part of the internal assessment.

Schools are advised not to wait for the last date to submit the entry.

The decision of the judges shall be final and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

Guidelines: CBSE Story Telling Competition Web-Portal And App Registration Through Web-Portal At www.cbse.nic.in

Step-1 School will enter its Affiliation No. as User Name and LOC/Registration Password as Password.

Step-2 

  • School will enter the selected/shortlisted candidate’s personal details for registration after that click on “Submit” button to save.
  • Maximum 4 candidates can be entered (one from each category).
  • School can enter candidate’s details one by one.
  • After entering details school can proceed.

Step-3 – School can generate final list having registration numbers of the candidates shortlisted. Note: School will be able to submit story entries through mobile app only for those candidates which are shown in the final list.

  • Schools can participate in the competition following the three-stage process.
  • State one is a school based competition for selecting winners in each of the 4 categories.
  • Stage two is based on web portal, which can be used for registration of students.
  • Stage three is based on mobile based Android app, which can be used for submission of entries by registered candidates.

Stage 1: Complete the school based competition from 25.02.2022 to 08.03.2022 and keep details of all 4 selected students ready. DO NOT WAIT FOR THE LAST DATE.

State 2: Registration Process of School (WEB PORTAL)

Stage 3: Requirement: Android smart phone having operating system version 5.0 and above with internet connectivity.

1. CBSE Story Telling Competition app may be downloaded and installed from Google Play Store. At the time of installation please ensure that you “Accept” the permissions asked by app.

2. Tap on the “Story Telling” icon to launch the App and follow below steps:

Step-1 School will enter its Affiliation No. as User Name and LOC/Registration Password as Password and then tap on “LOGIN” button.

Step-2 Enter the total no of participants in Primary, Middle, Secondary, Sr. Secondary and then tap on “SUBMIT AND NEXT” button.

Step-3 Follow the following steps after successful authentication

  • Select Registration Number from dropdown menu.
  • Tap on “Record Video” button to record the Video clip.
  • Tap on “PLAY” button to preview the video recorded. In case you want to discard the video and record a fresh video than tap on “Record Video” button again.
  • Once the Video clip is final, Press the “upload video” button.
  • Once the video is uploaded, participant can download the participation certificate by clicking on “view certificate” button.
