CBSE Private Exam Key Dates and Details
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially informed that the form submission for private candidates of classes 10th and 12th for the 2024 board exams will commence on September 12, 2023.
Private candidates eager to appear in the 2024 board examinations can submit their forms between September 12 and October 11, 2023. The process and fee payment can be completed online via the official CBSE website cbse.gov.in.
CBSE will conduct the board exams for the private students in 2024 on the basis of syllabus available on the official website.
Important Notice on Late Fee for CBSE Private Students
Candidates should mark their calendars to avoid late fees. Submissions made between October 12 to 19, 2023 will attract a late fee of Rs 2,000. Furthermore, the examinations for these candidates are scheduled to take place between February and April 2024.

Who Can Appear as Private Candidates?
The CBSE has outlined specific categories for potential private candidates:
- Students declared essential repeat in the 2023-23 exams
- Students placed in compartment during the main 2023 exams
- Students placed in compartment in their first chance in August 2023
- Students who failed between 2018-2022
- 2023 pass-outs wishing to improve performance in specific subjects
- 2022 and 2023 pass-outs wanting to appear for an additional subject
- Female bonafide residents of Delhi (Bonafide certificate required)
- Physically handicapped Delhi residents eligible for the class 10th exam (Medical certificate necessary)

Fee Structure for CBSE Board Exams 2024
Private candidates from India appearing for five exams of CBSE classes 10th and 12th must pay a registration fee of Rs 1,500. Candidates from Nepal have a similar fee, but international candidates will be charged Rs 10,000.
