CBSE Circular: CBSE Announces Counselling Facility for Exams

The CBSE Board will provide pre exam psychological counselling facility to students and parents from 1st January, 2024. The cbse board exam schedule for practical and theory papers has already been announced from 1st January, 2024 and 15th February, 2024 respectively. The psychological counselling has been aligned accordingly for students’ facilitation.
Counselling Facilities Available in 2024

1. IVRS Facility – CBSE offers a 24×7 IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System) service, free of cost. Students and parents can call the board’s toll-free number 1800-11-8004. This service provides information and tips for stress-free exam preparation, time management, FAQs, and CBSE office contacts in both Hindi and English.

2. Bilingual Podcasts – Podcasts in both Hindi and English on similar topics are available on the CBSE official website: www.cbse.gov.in.

3. Tele-Counselling Service – This voluntary and free service operates from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Saturday. This year, 65 professionals including principals, trained counsellors, special educators, and psychologists from CBSE-affiliated schools in India and abroad (Kuwait, Nepal, Japan, Qatar, Oman, UAE) are participating.

CBSE’s Continuous Effort Since 1998

Since 1998, CBSE has been providing pre exam psychological counselling in two phases: First is before exams and second is after board exam results. The aim of pre exam psychological counselling is to keep Class X and XII students of CBSE schools stress-free during exams.

CBSE stands out as it has been offering this counselling for 26 years, using innovative methods like tele-counselling and IVRS. The board actively engages with students through social media, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram, sharing important messages.

Audio-Visual and Multimedia Content – CBSE also provides audio-visual content on topics like youth experiences, aggression, depression, internet addiction, and exam stress. Multimedia content on learning disabilities, substance use disorders, and life skills is available for viewing and listening.
