CBSE Circular: Online Training on “Virtual Labs for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment”
With the vision of enhancing the professional skills of the teacher, CIET- NCERT is organising a five-day online training on “Virtual Labs for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment” from 26-30 September 2022 from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
NEP-2020 has recommended the creation of virtual laboratories so that all students have equal access to practical and hands-on experiment-based learning experiences. The policy has also suggested content creation of virtual and augmented reality so as to help students understand concepts in a better way by visualizing them.
Experiments or laboratory work are vital for learners. They are useful in understanding the theories and concepts of science or other subjects that cannot be studied only by textbooks. Though there is no substitute to direct hands-on experience of a physical laboratory, a virtual laboratory has the great potential to enhance actual laboratory experiences. Virtual reality resources increase interest, add fun, help to understand difficult concepts and make learning engaging by being in virtual spaces to learn the concepts in a simulated environment.
Online Training on “ Virtual Labs for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment” Organised by CIET-NCERT
With the vision of enhancing the professional skills of the teacher, CIET- NCERT is organising a five-day online training on “Virtual Labs for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment” from 26-30 September 2022 from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm to enhance the understanding of teachers, students, educators, and various stakeholders on the virtual lab resources, their types, availability of these resources, in order to enrich the classroom experiences.
The online training will be live on NCERT’s official YouTube channel and also be simulcast through PMeVidya DTH TV channels numbered #6-12 and Jio TV mobile app.

Objectives of Teacher Training:
To orient teachers, teacher-educators, students and various stakeholders regarding the following
- Availability and Functioning of virtual lab resources, in order to enrich the classroom experiences.
- To practice the Lab resources and enhance their pedagogical resources.
- To help them in learning basic and advanced concepts through experiments.

Step 2: Watch live training sessions: Watch live training sessions: Participants have to attend training sessions, which will be live-streamed on NCERT’s Official YouTube channel- http://youtube.com/ncertofficial from 26-30 September 2022 at 4:00- 5:00 pm (Monday to Friday). The session will also be telecasted live on the following channels-

Step: 3 Participation in Post-Session Activity and Certification: Participate in the post session quiz, score 70% & above to get a certificate.

Opening Date – September 30, 2022 at 6:00 pm
Closing Date –October 23, 2022 at 6:00 pm
Participants are allowed to attempt the quiz only once and those scoring 70% and above in the quiz will receive a certificate of participation in their registered mail ID within 30 days of taking the post session quiz (Check in SPAM Mail if not found in the Inbox).
