CBSE Board Announces No More Divisions or Aggregate Marks for Class 10 and 12 Exams

CBSE 2024: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made a major announcement regarding the board results for 2024. The board will no longer release divisions or distinctions for class 10 and 12 board exams. The board has already stopped announcing toppers.

CBSE Class 10th, 12th Board Exam 2024: Millions of students of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) are eagerly awaiting their board exam timetable. Meanwhile, a big news has come from the CBSE board.

A senior most official of the CBSE board said on Friday that the CBSE board will no longer give any divisions or distinctions for class 10 and class 12 board exams. If the student takes more than five papers, the decision to decide his best five subjects will be decided by the student’s respective school or institution.

CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said, “Overall, no category, special qualification or aggregate marks will be given. If a candidate has appeared in the examination in more than five subjects, then the institution or employer giving him admission can decide to consider the best five subjects for him.”

Bhattacharya said that the CBSE board does not calculate, announce or provide information about the percentage of marks. He said, “If the percentage of marks is required for higher education or employment, the calculation can be done by the institution or employer giving admission.”

It should be noted that earlier, the CBSE has also ended the practice of releasing priority lists for the purpose of maintaining healthy competition.

The CBSE board has not been releasing the list of students who topped the CBSE board class 10 and class 12 board exams for the past few years. The board had given the reason behind this, saying that it was done to avoid unhealthy competition among students.

CBSE Board Exam Schedule 2024

The CBSE board exam is scheduled to be held from February 15 next year. The CBSE board exams for both class 10 and class 12 will start on the same day, February 15, which will run till April. However, the board has not yet released a detailed schedule for the class 10th, 12th board exam. Meanwhile, CBSE 10th, 12th practical exams will start from January 1.
