CBSE Board has released a very important circular on the online portal for availing facilities/exemptions for Children With Special Needs (CWSN) students in Board Examinations 2026.
This update is important for all schools, teachers, parents, and students. In this post, you will read clearly about dates, process, and required documents. So please read till the end and share it.
CBSE informed that the facilities to be given to CWSN students are already clear in circular No. CBSE/coord/112233/2019 (12 April 2019). Now to easily avail these facilities, a dedicated online portal has been made available in the form of CWSN Management System.
This portal will run along with the List of Candidates (LOC), as mentioned in the LOC notification (27.08.2025). Along with this, SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) has also been provided, which schools will have to read carefully and follow.
Schools have to mark the candidate as CWSN in the LOC and mention the disability. After this, the school will login on the Pariksha Sangam portal. In the CWSN module, the list of candidates who have been marked as CWSN based on the LOC will be displayed, and permissible facilities will also be visible according to their disability category.
If the student wishes to avail the facility, the school will select those options so that these details get auto-populated in the admit card. This will enable the exam centres to make the necessary arrangements in time, and no CWSN candidate will face any difficulty.
CBSE has also given a clear timeline. CWSN Web Portal will be open from 09 September 2025 (Tuesday) to 22 September 2025 (Monday). This process will not be accepted in offline mode, and no request will be considered after the deadline.
The schedule will not be extended, and no candidate can be added as CWSN after the deadline. Therefore, schools have to upload the details and submit the required documents very carefully within the given time.
The circular also reminds that CBSE will conduct two examinations of Class X in 2026, so following the instructions and strict adherence to the schedule is very important. The SOP of the process is annexed with the circular – work has to be done in the same order to conduct the examination smoothly.
CBSE reiterated that the Board provides several exemptions/concessions to CWSN candidates in accordance with the spirit of the RPwD Act, 2016. Schools and students are sometimes not aware of the correct procedure, hence this online, structured system has been created.
The facilities provided include permission for extra time, scribe/reader, computer/laptop (without internet), and basic calculator for registered CWSN candidates.
Finally, the circular has been released by Controller of Examinations, Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj (Ref: CBSE/coord/CWSN-CAMC/2025, Date: 03.09.2025).
CBSE has requested all the affiliated schools to complete CWSN marking, portal submission, and document uploading on time so that the correct features are mentioned in the admit cards and no candidate faces any inconvenience.
