Aiming for a Skilled India: Objectives of the Skill Yatra Campaign

The ‘Skill Yatra Campaign’ seeks to:

  • Eradicate misconceptions about skill and vocational education, fostering awareness among schools, communities, and parents.
  • Accelerate the spread of skill education across India, supporting the Government’s ‘Skill India’ initiative.
  • Increase awareness about higher education opportunities and career paths after high school, promoting employment and entrepreneurship.

  • Spread awareness about the Government of India’s Skill Education in Schools policy initiative and its availability among stakeholders like schools, parents, and students.

‘Skill Yatra Campaign’ Highlights: A Mobile Voyage for Skill Education

The mobile lab will journey to various regional areas across the country. It will spend 4-5 hours at each school, with a local coordinator managing the event logistics.

There will be media outreach and publicity within the local community, inviting neighbouring school students to participate in the skill demonstration and training. Local government officers, influential society members, and other officials will also be invited to these events.
