CBSE Launches Induction Training Guru Dakshta Programme
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the launch of its newly developed Induction Training (Guru Dakshta) Programme.
The Guru Dakshta Program aims to equip principals and teachers of newly affiliated schools with the CBSE system as well as existing CBSE-affiliated schools with the abilities and resources needed to be successful in their roles.
The Induction Training Programme introduces teachers and school heads to the structure, policies, and guidelines of all the constituent departments and units of CBSE, including Training, Examination, Affiliation, Academics, Skill Education, IT, Professional Examination, CTET, CoEs, and ROs.
The Guru Dakshta Program includes eight sessions of 90 minutes each, deliberating on the functioning of these departments and units, which serve as a foundation for their competency building and growth in their roles in schools.
This Guru Dakshta Program manual has gone through many stages of development, right from preparation of the outline and framework of the content to verifying/reviewing the content by the concerned department heads, updating, enriching and aligning the document with the practitioners’ viewpoint through consultative meetings held at Centers of Excellence (CoEs) Panchkula, Pune, Guwahati and Delhi (West) and last but not the least, the rigorous exercise of Hindi translation of the manual by experts.
All the Principals/Heads of Schools recently affiliated with the Board, as well as those already affiliated, are requested to contact their respective Center of Excellence (CoE) for the purpose of organizing and participating in the Induction Training (Guru Dakshta) Programme.
By optimizing the use of Guru Dakshta resources, schools will be able to strengthen the knowledge and skill base of their principals, teachers and other staff members, which, in turn, will have a positive impact in the lives of students, as envisioned in NEP – 2020. With best wishes for success, this program is hereby launched.
The Guru Dakshta Program initiative by the CBSE is a step towards excellence in education through capacity building in innovative teaching-learning processes. Training (Guru Dakshta) Programme focuses on the importance of updating the knowledge and skills of school principals, teachers, and other staff members who play an important role in equipping learners with 21st-century learning skills, as highlighted in NEP 2020.
