About Har Ghar Tiranga Program
The Indian National Flag is a symbol of national pride for the entire nation. To further honour the national flag, Govt. of India has planned the Har Ghar Tiranga program under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav activities. It envisages inspiring Indians everywhere to hoist the national flag.

The Indian National Flag is a symbol of national pride for the entire nation. To further honor our flag, the Hon’ble Home Minister who oversees all efforts under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav has approved the program of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’. It envisages inspiring Indians everywhere to hoist the national flag at their home.
Our relationship with the flag has always been more formal and institutional than personal. Bringing the flag home collectively as a nation in the 75th year of independence thus becomes symbolic of not only an act of personal connection to the Tiranga but also an embodiment of our commitment to nation-building, The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and promote awareness about our national flag.

What CBSE Suggests to CBSE Schools for “Har Ghar Tiranga”
1. Hoist the national flag on school premises during the independence week.
2. Encourage students and their families towards hoisting the national flag during the independence week.
3. Organize activities such as poster making competitions, quiz competitions and essay writing competitions, etc. and also organize cultural events during independence week, to promote patriotic feelings.

 The Azadi Amrit Mahotsav means elixir of energy of independence; elixir of inspirations of the warriors of the freedom struggle; elixir of new ideas and pledges; and the elixir of Aatmanirbharta. Therefore, this Mahotsav is a festival of the awakening of the nation; the festival of fulfilling the dream of good governance; and a festival of global peace and development.Â
