CBSE Opens Registration for CIET-NCERT’s Five-Day NEP 2020 Training; Supports 50 Hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD)

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has informed all affiliated schools about a five-day online training programme titled “NEP 2020: Empowering SEDGs.”

The free online teacher training programme will be organised by the Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), NCERT from 27 July to 31 July 2026 to mark the sixth anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. CBSE has asked all schools to share the information and encourage teachers, educators and interested participants to register.

About the Training Programme

The training programme aims to help participants understand the provisions of NEP 2020 related to Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDGs). It focuses on promoting equitable, inclusive and quality education for all learners.

The NCERT training programme will also discuss important topics such as Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), Gender Inclusion Fund, Special Education Zones, inclusive teaching practices, technology-enabled learning and institutional support mechanisms.

Who Can Participate?

Anyone interested in learning about SEDGs and quality education can join the programme. No prior experience is required.

What Participants Will Learn

During the five-day programme, participants will learn about the vision and principles of NEP 2020, understand the educational needs of different SEDGs, identify barriers that affect learning, explore important NEP 2020 provisions and prepare practical action plans to support inclusive education in schools.

How to Register and Attend

Participants can register online from 14 July to 27 July 2026. The live sessions will be available on PM eVidya ISL Channel 31, NCERT Official YouTube Channel, NCERT Events YouTube Channel and the PM eVidya Mobile App. No separate meeting link will be provided. Participants should join the sessions through these official platforms. Those who miss the live sessions can watch the recordings later on the PM eVidya ISL YouTube channel.

Quiz and e-Certificate

Participants must complete the online quiz to receive an e-certificate. The quiz will open on 31 July 2026 at 2:00 PM and close on 31 August 2026 at 11:59 PM. Only one attempt will be allowed. Registered participants who score 70% or above will receive the e-certificate after the quiz closes.

CBSE’s Message to Schools

CBSE has asked all affiliated schools to share this information with teachers, educators and other interested participants and encourage them to join the programme. The sessions will be conducted in Hindi and English and will also include Indian Sign Language (ISL) support to make the programme more inclusive.
