CBSE Latest News: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a change in its calendar for the Skill Expo and National Guidance Festival 2023. The event originally slated for 20th September 2023 in Dehradun, Uttrakhand, faces postponement due to administrative reasons. The board will soon release the fresh date for this event.

However, the board has provided the details for the next leg of the Skill Expo and National Guidance Festival. Scheduled for 27th September 2023, the one-day event will take place at the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, located near Games Village in Lalmati, Guwahati, Assam. Schools falling under the jurisdiction of the Bhubaneshwar and Guwahati CBSE Regional Offices should mark their calendars.

For schools and participants interested in attending, the registration links for both the Skill Expo and the National Guidance Festival in Guwahati are now live. They can access the Skill Expo through this link and the National Guidance Festival via this link.

  • Schools should use the cbseshiksha.in email ID for registering for the Skill Expo.
  • If there’s an issue accessing the registration links directly, copying and pasting them into the browser might resolve the problem.
  • Detailed guidelines concerning the Skill Expo and the National Guidance Festival have been attached as Annexure A and B in the official notice.

The board, urging the importance of this event, has requested the principals of all CBSE-affiliated schools to encourage maximum student participation.

Detailed Guidelines Released for CBSE Skill Expo 2023

In light of the upcoming CBSE Skill Expo 2023, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released a comprehensive set of guidelines for schools and participants. Here’s everything you need to know:

Eligibility and Registration:

  • Participation is exclusively for schools under the specific CBSE Regional Offices mentioned, including Bhubaneswar and Guwahati.
  • Registration must be done using the school’s @cbseshiksha.in email id.
  • Schools can register for the event without incurring any fee.
  • The final date for registration is 19th September 2023. Selected exhibits will receive notification by 21st September 2023.

Event Details:

  • Venue: Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Lalmati, Guwahati, Assam.
  • Date: 27th September 2023, Wednesday.
  • Timings: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Participant Categories and Team Composition:

  • Students can take part in one of two categories: Category I (Classes 6-10) and Category II (Classes 11-12).
  • A school can register a minimum of two teams, ideally one from each category.
  • Each team should consist of one teacher and two students for every selected skill, and one mentor Skill teacher.
  • A school can exhibit a minimum of one and a maximum of three skills.
  • Any changes in the names of students or mentor teachers post-registration are strictly prohibited. This applies to both regional and national levels.

Exhibit Guidelines:

  • Schools need to provide the participants’ details and a brief description of their exhibit using the registration link.
  • The chosen exhibits for the Skill Expo should align with the themes and sub-themes released by CBSE. Notable themes include “Local to Global”, “Future Tech”, “Health and Wellness”, and “Traditional Arts & Crafts of India”, among others.
  • The project or exhibit showcased could be a process to create an item/product or demonstrate the application of entrepreneurship. Furthermore, eco-friendly materials should be prioritized in the creation of exhibits.
  • Schools have the freedom to prepare or showcase a skill independently, or they can collaborate with experts in the field. However, once a theme, sub-theme, or skill is selected, it cannot be changed.

Assessment and Recognition:

Top-performing entries will receive certificates of recognition.

The decision of the committee members or experts during the screening process will be final and binding.

CBSE encourages schools to ensure that their exhibits embody innovation, creativity, and technical prowess. With the guidelines now in place, schools are better equipped to participate and showcase their skills in the forthcoming Skill Expo 2023.

National Guidance Festival 2023: Annexure B

The National Guidance Festival (NGF) 2023 is only open to schools affiliated with specified CBSE Regional Offices, particularly those in Bhubaneswar and Guwahati.

Schools should register for the festival using their official @cbseshiksha.in email addresses. They can register via the provided links: https://bit.ly/NGF-Guwahati or https://forms.gle/1ns84Mg7K6xevkV29.

Each participating school can nominate 5 students and 2 teachers. They will attend the full-day event, running from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, at the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Lalmati, Guwahati, Assam.

All attendees who stay for the entire event duration will receive participation certificates.

During the event, participants can explore the Skill Expo in allocated break times.

To spread the word, webinars and short sessions will take place prior to the NGF.

The festival will feature motivational talks and panel discussions on topics like skill development for the modern world, the significance of early career planning, and interactive career roadmap sessions.

The event is scheduled for 27th September 2023, with the registration deadline set for 22nd September 2023.
