Achievement of Indian Army

♦ The Kashmir war took place in 1947-48 when the Pakistani army invaded Kashmir with the intention of snatching it. Kashmir was saved by the Indian Army on the request of the then Kashmir ruler, Maharaja Hari Singh.

♦ In 1962, China attacked the Indian Himalayan border. The Indian army was not prepared, due to which there was a heavy loss, but the armed forces of India increased their readiness against China on the border and gave a befitting reply.

♦ In 1965, there was a war between India and Pakistan. The Indian Army gave a befitting reply to Pakistan and defeated it in the war.

♦ The Bangladesh War took place in 1971 when the Pakistani army forced Bangladeshis to take refuge in India. India captured the eastern region of Pakistan and freed 90000 prisoners and gave that region an independent identity as Bangladesh.

♦ In 1999, Operation Vijay was launched against the Pakistani Army. The victory of the Indian Army in this operation was recorded in golden letters in history. It is also famous by the name of Kargil war.
