Armed Forces Flag Day and its Significance

Armed Forces Flag Day 2022: India is celebrating Armed Forces Flag Day every year since 1949. On August 28, 1949, a committee was constituted by the Defense Minister, after the decision of this committee, Flag Day is celebrated every year on December 7.

Armed Forces Flag Day 2022: Today is Armed Forces Flag Day i.e. Armed Forces Flag Day. Armed Forces Flag Day is celebrated every year on 07 December. This day is celebrated for the welfare of the families of the martyred soldiers of the country. Along with this, it also gives an opportunity to the countrymen to help in the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund.

India is celebrating Armed Forces Flag Day every year since 1949. On August 28, 1949, the Defense Minister constituted a committee. Since the decision of this committee, Flag Day is celebrated every year on 7th December.

On this day, donations are taken from the people by distributing small flags among the citizens. This fund is given to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund, which is used for the welfare of ex-servicemen. On Armed Forces Flag Day, Indians express their gratitude toward their soldiers.

On the day of Armed Forces Flag Day, the three armies of India, the Indian Army, the Indian Air Force, and the Indian Navy also organize many programs. Along with this, flags are also distributed, in return for which people give donations.

What is Armed Forces Flag Day history and why is it celebrated?

The reason behind celebrating the Indian Armed Forces Flag Day on 7th December is that in fact, after India got independence, on 28 August 1949, a committee was formed by the Government of India for the welfare of the soldiers of the Indian Army. This committee chose to celebrate Flag Day every year on 7th December.
At the same time, to collect money for the welfare of the soldiers, the committee collected donations by distributing small flags among the people. The three colors (red, dark blue, and light blue) in this flag represent the three armies. There are three main objectives of the fund collection done on Armed Forces Flag Day. Cooperation in the loss of life during the first war. Second for the welfare and cooperation of the personnel working in the army and their families and the third for the welfare of the retired personnel and their families.

Armed Forces Flag Day ensures help to take care of the families of martyrs, disabled ex-servicemen, widows of soldiers who have attained heroic speed in war and is a symbol of our commitment and respect towards them.

Soldiers are the shield of the country, who protect the country from all dangers and evils, soldiers are the pride of the country, who always protect and increase the honor of the country by becoming the pride of the country. Many soldiers have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty and our brave soldiers are always ready to give a befitting reply to the enemies of the country.
