NCERT CIET Launches Free Online Training on Cyber Safety in the Era of AI

NCERT CIET announces a free online training on cyber safety in the AI era for teachers and educators with live sessions and certification.

NCERT CIET has announced a free five hour online training series on Cyber Safety in the era of AI. The programme focuses on safe and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in education.

Artificial Intelligence is now widely used in teaching learning communication and digital platforms. This growing use has also increased cyber risks for teachers students and institutions. NCERT aims to build awareness and digital responsibility through this national level initiative.

The training explains how AI systems work in simple terms. It highlights risks like data misuse privacy loss misinformation and digital fraud. Participants will learn how cyber threats affect schools colleges and learners.

The programme also focuses on ethical and legal use of AI tools. It supports safe handling of data and protection of digital identity. Teachers will be guided to help students use AI wisely and confidently.

This initiative supports the vision of NEP 2020. The policy stresses digital literacy critical thinking and cyber safety in education. CIET NCERT is leading this effort as a government institution under the Ministry of Education.

The English sessions will run from 02 February 2026 to 06 February 2026. The Hindi sessions will be held from 09 February 2026 to 13 February 2026. Live sessions will be conducted daily from 4 PM to 5 PM.

The training will be streamed on the NCERT Official YouTube Channel. It will also be broadcast on PM eVidya DTH TV Channels from 6 to 12. Learners can also watch on DD Free Dish Dish TV and the Jio TV mobile app.

Recorded sessions will be available through a dedicated YouTube playlist. This allows participants to revise and learn at their own pace.

Each day will focus on a key theme related to AI and cyber safety. Topics include AI risk landscape deepfakes data privacy legal challenges and cyber resilience. Experts from universities and professional institutions will lead the sessions.

Teachers educators and institutional staff can register online. Registration is mandatory to participate and receive updates.

Participants who want a certificate must complete the DIKSHA online course. They must watch all five videos and pass the final assessment. A minimum score of seventy percent is required for certification.

The course will remain open on the DIKSHA portal till 15 March 2026. Certificates will be available in the DIKSHA profile after verification.

Participants are also required to submit feedback after the training. The feedback will help improve future online training programmes.
