How Should Schools Handle Marks Uploads?

CBSE has observed that schools sometimes make mistakes when uploading marks for Practical/Project/Internal Assessments. To help schools in this process and ensure smooth conduct of both practical and theory exams, CBSE has provided a detailed list of subjects for Classes X and XII, which includes important information to guide schools through the process.

What Information Does the Attached List Provide?

The attached list contains essential details for each subject, including:

  1. Subject Code and Name
  2. Maximum Marks for the Theory Examination
  3. Maximum Marks for the Practical Examination
  4. Maximum Marks for Project Assessment
  5. Maximum Marks for Internal Assessment (IA)
  6. Whether an External Examiner will be appointed for practical or project assessments
  7. Whether Practical Answer-books will be provided by the board
  8. The type of Answer Book that will be used for Theory Examinations

What Should Schools Focus On?

Each subject carries a total of 100 marks, which are divided among theory, practical, project, and internal assessment components as outlined in the attached guidelines. Schools must pay close attention to ensure that they upload the correct marks for every student, as once marks are uploaded, they cannot be changed.

Schools are strongly encouraged to take note of this information and act accordingly to ensure that no student faces any inconvenience later on.

For more details, please refer to the attached circular and ensure timely action to support students throughout the examination process.
