Students from Classes 3 to 12 Can Participate in the Online Event and Receive Participation Certificates
CBSE has asked schools across India to encourage students to take part in the National Yoga Olympiad 2026. NCERT is organizing the event on behalf of the Ministry of Education to promote yoga among students.
The National Yoga Olympiad 2026 will help students learn healthy habits, improve fitness, and build a positive lifestyle. Students can register until June 10, 2026, and NCERT will conduct the event online from June 15 to June 18.
Why Is the National Yoga Olympiad Important?
NCERT started the National Yoga Olympiad in 2016 after the launch of the International Day of Yoga. The Olympiad encourages students to learn yoga and practice it in their daily lives. It helps students stay healthy, improve concentration, and develop discipline.

Who Can Participate?
Students from Classes 3 to 12 can participate in the National Yoga Olympiad 2026 through their schools. Government, government-aided, private, and other recognized schools can register students for the event. NCERT has also encouraged students with special needs to participate.
When Will the Olympiad Take Place?
NCERT will conduct the Olympiad in four stages. Students in Classes 3 to 5 will participate on June 15. Students in Classes 6 to 8 will participate on June 16. Students in Classes 9 and 10 will participate on June 17. Students in Classes 11 and 12 will participate on June 18.
The Olympiad will help students understand yoga and its benefits. Students will learn about asanas, pranayama, meditation, and other yogic practices. These activities can improve physical health, mental strength, and emotional well-being. The Olympiad also encourages students to develop good habits and positive values.
How Will the Online Quiz Work?
NCERT will conduct an online quiz as part of the National Yoga Olympiad 2026. The quiz will include 25 multiple-choice questions. Students will get 48 seconds for each question. NCERT will not deduct marks for wrong answers. Students can take the quiz on a mobile phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer.
What Certificates Will Students Receive?
All participants will receive a digital participation certificate after completing the Olympiad. NCERT will also give merit certificates to students who achieve top positions in different categories.
