NCERT and UNESCO Start Free Online Training on Child Online Safety

NCERT-CIET in collaboration with UNESCO Regional Office for South Asia has launched a free online training programme on “Online Violence Against Children.” The five day training programme will begin from June 1 2026 and aims to spread awareness about digital safety cyberbullying and responsible internet use among learners and educators.

NCERT said the programme will help participants understand online risks and learn safe digital practices in today’s technology driven environment. Experts from UNESCO AIIMS NCPCR and NIMHANS will conduct the live sessions during the training programme.

Participants Can Attend Live Sessions and Earn Certificate Through DIKSHA

The live sessions will take place daily from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM on the NCERT Official YouTube Channel and PM e-Vidya DTH channels. Learners can also watch the recorded sessions later through YouTube playlists.

Participants who want a digital participation certificate must join the course through DIKSHA after the live sessions. NCERT said learners need to complete all activities watch digital resources score at least 70 percent in the final assessment and submit the feedback form to receive the certificate.

The digital certificate will appear in the learner’s DIKSHA profile and can also be accessed through DigiLocker.

The training programme will cover topics such as online violence cyberbullying child protection legal mechanisms emotional impact of digital abuse and support systems for children facing online risks. more details

NCERT said the initiative supports safe digital learning and responsible technology use in schools and educational spaces across India.
